Ark Animal Hospital

I give one call for several reasons one they never like to accept new clients always say no unless you get a existing pet with them or get a refurrel second they don't work with touch of love rescue or even answer calls or emails from hem to help someone pay for a stray cat getting fixed shots and ya know. Whatever so we don't have to drive to Detroit lakes to use their one and like I said argumental on the phone when you call them. To speak to them politely arguing with you on everything they don't do any stray barn cat things anymore but work apparently exclusively with the local animal shelter here some good news from some people about ark and bad stuff but mostly how they hate to take on new clients and it's not cheap this place is quiet expensive 260$ to get male stray cat fixed shots and chipped and I have no idea what I am paying for since person on the phone really didn't say just kept repeating the same thing over and over again we don't do that package deal anymore when I said I wanted to get this done one way or the other I just asked a question if they still did or not and then I said normal price then cause this cat needs this done to stop being a problem and said then finally ok it 200$ for fixing and shots and I said I want him chipped too she said 60$ I said ok and told her when to schedule that one and then I mentioned my other pets and how I have a flea infestation and needed to come in and get them examined to get brovector for them she only scheduled two of them one was already with then he needs his yearly exam and the other cat that needs updated shots and she wouldn't even acknowledge the. Dog or last cat when I said the dog is badly needs meds she said go to Walmart and buy Frontline plus when I said the over the counter stuff treatments didn't work so I say this place thinks they are what too good to see a person of low income so ya I am hoping they don't dump extra stuff on the vets appointments I do have

We called this clinic because our dog was yelping in pain and was in kidney failure, and the first staff member we spoke with assured us that we could bring him in for an available appointment. However, when we attempted to confirm or check in, the practice turned us away, stating the slot was strictly reserved for "emergencies for existing clients only." Turning away a dog in obvious distress after already telling us we could be seen is completely unacceptable. To refuse basic triage or emergency assistance to an animal in clear pain simply due to client status despite having an open appointment shows complete lack of empathy. I would strongly advise pet owners to look elsewhere for care, as you cannot rely on them in urgent situations.

I had brought in a stray cat to be neutered. I had him for over a month before making the appointment to neuter. I was asked about vaccinations I stated I only wanted PCR not rabies. Vet tech said rabies was the law. It can be mandatory in certain cities/townships in MN, but is not required. She said they neuter him but unless I did the rabies vaccinations I was allowed to bring him back. Fine I went to pick him up at the designated time and they wouldn't just release him. Wanted me to wait for a vet tech. It was hot I had a dog in the car I said I would wait in the parking lot. Vet tech came out said I wasnt welcomed back. Fine I already told the other tech I wasn't coming back. Then I get a call a week later asking how my cat was and if I needed anything to be sure and call.
