Eagan Pet Clinic

We used to bring our (now deceased) kitty here for well over a decade and a half. The care has gone down a lot over the years, whilst prices have skyrocketed. Some of the vets have been nice except usually one lady, and the last time we went here we had that one lady again. Which made this appointment so much worse. This last appointment was to see why our kitty was suddenly not eating very much, and appeared to be just not really himself. We thought it would be a very small issue. She told us the devastating news of him having a large abdominal mass which she could feel. She said she could give more information if we did a $500-600 ultrasound. After taking barely any time to do the supposed ultrasound of about 5 mins or less but charging us the $600 for that alone, she didn't even give us any new information after paying for the extremely expensive ultrasound. Just told us the same "he has a tumor, it's not operable, I can put him down in a couple of hours if you'd like". "I can put him down in a couple of hours if you'd like". Literally what the woman said. No sorry, no compassion, nothing. No time to let us grieve. Could have at least feigned empathy. This is a sweet kitty I've had since I was a small child, who was always very healthy and basically our family member. You're delivering devastating news to a family and you don't even say sorry, don't even bother to maybe perhaps ask if we wanted to keep the fur you shaved off him since he was going to pass. And you say in a completely uncaring voice about euthanizing him in a couple of hours, while we barely have any time to process this news. At least where we did put him down, the vet was very gentle and compassionate and let us express our grief and gently held and pet our kitty and allowed us to say goodbye. I know if we had done this at the clinic, it would have made the entire experience much worse than it already was. I realize you likely see tons of dying animals, but show some compassion, especially when delivering terrible news. And don't lie about giving additional information if you aren't going to, just for the sake of having us pay a ton of money.

While on a road trip from CA our cat became ill and she was diagnosed with Immune Medicated Hemolytic Anemia. Continuing our RV travels we found Egan Pet Clinic online and scheduled her for followup bloodwork. Unfortunately one of the side effects is possible blood clots, which she experienced. Egan was there for us including staying after hours to diagnose and later help the cat to her end of life. They were very kind and made this sad experience much smoother. Our gratitude to Dr. Wolff and her team at Eagan Pet Clinic.

Expensive and money hungry. Out cat needed a surgery we could not afford- especially because there’s no guarantee the problem wouldn’t reoccur (we already had to put down the cat’s sibling for the same problem) and would require expensive food for the rest of her life. Our poor cat was in pain and the vet refused to out her down until we tried two months worth of food that had no guarantee of helping, and would require more money and care to then see if it worked. In the meantime, we had to quarantine the cat for those 1-2 months in a place she could possibly pee on the floor due to her condition, which we didn’t have in our house. So our option from this vet was to pay for the expenses or they would do nothing for us. They would prefer the cat stay in pain because they apparently were taking the moral high ground (with our money) that there was a POSSIBILITY she could live through this specific instance that could reoccur again. No one wants the cat to be okay more than we do but as a vet, you have to know that not everyone has thousands of dollars to put towards a POSSIBLE fix- not even a guarantee we won’t be asked to do it again in a year. And the cat suffers in the meantime. My husband left in tears.

Vets and techs are great. They are very knowledgeable and able to give me all of the options for preventative care. Our current dog is a small breed and not a breed we’ve owned before. I feel comfortable asking questions and get good explanations related to their care. Definitely recommend.

I’m very thankful for this vet and their amazing staff. They took excellent care of my cat, listened to my concerns, and worked with my budget to make sure she received the treatment she needed. Everyone was kind, understanding, and compassionate. I highly recommend them!
