South Metro Animal Emergency Care

My dog Charlie a chiweenie was 17 he had declined over the last 6 months, I had to bring him in last night for end of life care and treatment. Everyone that assisted us last night was amazing!! It was one of the toughest nights for me choosing that it was time to let him go. They were patient, listened a lot, were caring and comforted me and my Charlie through the process. I couldn’t recommend a better place ❤️ I believed the tech’s name was Carly and I wanted to make sure she seen this. Edit-I just received Charlie’s paw print and nose print in the mail. The tears came all over again, but I’ll have a permanent memory of him that I will keep forever. Thank you again for all of your help South Metro animal emergency care!

I came here with my kitten, Nox, on Sunday the 27th at night. I had been referred here by the urgent vet staff in Lakeville because my kitten was very lethargic, had a high fever, and had refused to eat for almost 24 hours. Upon arrival, everything seemed normal. I was checked in and then brought into a room, where I waited for two hours for a staff member to come in and ask me to go back to the lobby. I waited another two hours in the lobby, hoping to be taken back into another room and see the doctor. When the doctor finally came out from the back, he looked at my kitten while he was still in his carrier. He didn’t take him out, examine him, or even pick him up. He then gave me baby food, a can of wet food, and some medicine to help encourage him to eat. He told me to administer everything at home myself and to just keep an eye on him. He then proceeded to tell me, “He has no fever and seems fine,” after I had personally watched the other vet at the urgent care check Nox and confirm that he had a very high fever. I was charged $229 for an exam fee for the doctor to come into the lobby, look at my kitten in his carrier for approximately one minute, and then walk away. I am completely outraged by the outcome and feel that the care Nox received was unacceptable. I understand that emergency veterinary hospitals can be busy, but I brought my kitten there because I was genuinely concerned about his condition and had been referred there by another veterinary professional. I expected him to actually be examined and for my concerns to be taken seriously. I honestly wish I would have taken him to a different emergency room to begin with. I think it was completely unreasonable to charge a $229 exam fee when my kitten was barely “examined” at all. I will never be returning to this ER with my pets, and I will highly suggest that others avoid it if at all possible.

If you want to pay 300$ for the "veterinary" to look at your animal and tell tou know hes no sick when they cant even stand up for themselves for the big ass fever they have go to this place, pls read the other bad comentarios they had already couse the death of at least few animals for what i read, this place is horrendous

We found a cat and I wanted to make sure it wouldn’t give my current cat anything. As I write, they are checking her and have been amazing. Communication A+, what they can and can’t do A+, compassionate A+. Thank you for your care!

Had a really good experience with this vet- reasonably priced, transparent, and kind.
