Yesterday

My sweet boy, Boulder, was sooooo sick and spent two nights at VEG Woodbury. The staff there was so kind and it was evident that he was being well attended to. He even got his own decor on his kennel which I got a kick out of. He usually has major “stranger danger” but I could tell he had become buddies with a couple of the staff by the time he was discharged. Thanks so much for taking care of my sweet fella!! He feels so much better.

Very, very long wait. Rough handling on an injured puppy. I gave a second star only for The vet that was great.

2 months ago I came into VEG ER after googling emergency vets nearby. I live 45 mins away but was at a loss of what to do regarding my beloved cat Figaro. 1 1/2 wks prior he had emergency surgery at his vet for a bad bladder obstruction. After that, Figaro just didn’t seem to recover 😢. I walked into VEG ER hoping for advice for his situation, knowing Figaro was at a place he wouldn’t be able to recover and the wknd a day away. The staff immediately came up and greeted me. I was crying so badly I couldn’t get a word out. They were so sweet and comforting; handing me tissues, letting me know I could take my time trying to get out Figaro’s condition. There was no rush and they were extremely attentive. I can’t thank those two sweet staff gals enough! All of my questions were answered and they gave me a tour-explaining each area of the ER. If your pet needs surgery, you have the option of being right alongside them during the whole thing. They have special secluded rooms w/fresh linen for a comfortable place to stay w/your pet for longer recovery times. There’s also a beautiful room to itself, set up w/soft lighting, quiet, warm, and comfortable for you and your pet if they need to be put to sleep. That part was very meaningful because at the regular vet, Figaro would’ve had to be put down on a cold metal table in an uncomfortable exam room. They went through all cost questions I had, as well as payment plan options. Everything was straight forward and there were no hidden fees. A huge plus was knowing I could bring my pet in and VEG does an assessment/checks vitals/ect. for no cost at all. If you decide to proceed w/the plan of care/advice from the Vet, you can. But you’re not obligated. It’s also open 24 hrs. I left there feeling so at ease knowing if I brought Figaro in, his last moments wouldn’t be so scary. We didn’t make it the next day. Figaro passed away. Here we are 2 months later. It’s the wknd w/no vet clinics open. I had no doubt where I would bring my other cat Goose who was ill. The staff grabbed the door for me right away, as I had my hands full w/Goose. An assessment and vitals were performed. While I waited for Dr. Megan Brewer’s care plan and advice, my mom and I were given a comfortable area to wait w/Goose. Dr. Megan was absolutely wonderful, along w/the rest of the staff that night! They didn’t rush Goose (which would have caused fear/anxiety), and had such a gentle approach. I was able to be w/him throughout all his tests and care. VEG also sends the visit and results to his regular clinic which is great! Seeing the way they interacted and cared for a couple other animals during that time was also comforting. I cannot say enough about VEG ER-Woodbury! I confidently recommend them to anyone wanting the best care during for their pet in an emergency. I wish more individuals put so much kindness and heart into their work like the staff do here❤️

Buyer beware, this place goes a little overboard on procedure and quotes. Extra X-rays, medicine and additional tests that may not be needed. This to me seems unethical when you have a sick pet and it’s after hours. I know the employees mean well but the pricing is over the top compared to a normal vet.
