Como Park Animal Hospital And Afterhours Veterinary Care

This place is fantastic. All of the staff are professional. Place is clean. They've been great to our dog, who's been there more than once. The woman at the desk at night is particularly great and very welcoming

One of the best places to go if you have an exotic animal emergency. Would go here for all of my animals no matter what breed they are!

OVERPRICED AND OVERTESTING: I was gob smacked at the cost of a single health screening for a wellness visit. This is clear price gouging and excessive testing. My former vet ran an estimate of the same charges and came back with the same rate I incurred in 2025. THEY SERVE THEMSELVES AND NOT YOUR PET: They take advantage of people who need animals in their life to maintain their own wellness. The doctor left me a long rambling voicemail on which he literally warned me of possible risks of my dog continuing on her medication and then backtracked. They clearly lack the capacity to be compassionate and tactful to humans or their companions. THEY MAKE GETTING AN RX AS DIFFICULT AS POSSIBLE: I had to drive across town to get a paper RX. It was not ready when I arrived. I asked the receptionist for an envelope and she gave it willingly. They are clearly able to put an RX in an envelope, add a stamp and have their mail carrier collect it. I am unable to post the entire response from them here. Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback and for expressing your concerns so openly. I am genuinely sorry to hear about the financial and personal challenges you are facing, and I understand how stressful it can be to manage unexpected expenses, especially when caring for a beloved pet. Regarding your pricing questions, I want to clarify that as a private, independently owned veterinary clinic, we do not receive the same funding or discounts as rescue organizations or foster groups. Our pricing reflects the costs associated with operating a full-service 24-hour hospital, including staffing, medical equipment, and quality care for all our patients. While we strive to keep our services affordable and accessible, we are not able to match the discounted rates available to non-profit organizations. We set our fees fairly based on the services we provide and the costs we incur to ensure the best care possible. For the fecal test, our standard pricing is in line with other local clinics. The higher total on your bill resulted from the additional lab work performed during your visit. While your previous veterinarian conducted only a fecal and heartworm/tick test, our wellness visit included those tests plus a full-body function health screening panel, which accounts for the higher total cost. I have attached the lab results for your records. I apologize that you were not provided with an itemized estimate during your visit. In the future, we will discuss all recommended tests and associated costs with you in advance so you can make fully informed decisions. I have also discussed this with Dr. Casey. Regarding your feedback about communication, I am sorry that voicemail was not your preferred method for receiving results and that the delivery left you feeling uncomfortable. I have noted in your record that you prefer to receive future test results by email, and we appreciate your input on how we can improve our approach. While we are unable to offer a refund or compensation in this case, please know we value your feedback. If you have any further questions, please feel free to reach out to me directly at admin@comoparkvet.com. Thank you again for sharing your perspective and dedication to your dog’s well-being. Sincerely, Steph F, BA, LVT Practice Manager

Brought my 6 year old cat in for an emergency visit. Vet said she has Pyometra. Because I can’t pay the $5000 up front for the life saving surgery they sent her home. Please don’t go here if you care for your animal.
