This is also not a review of services but on demeanor. I, like many others tried calling this vet for at home euthanasia. I was made to feel guilty about not trying to save my 10 yr old Rottie. While telling me things that it could be, which are all “fixable” she also included she refused to make any diagnosis over the phone.(I wasn’t asking) I told her if I had $3500 (average emergency pet visit) I would have done that. There were prior issues and a slow decline in my dog. As a previous animal care tech, for pigs, I know when to make the call on recovery and when to euthanize and yes I did that too! Now I’m sitting here with her harsh judge mental words ringing in my head over and over while my dog is dying. Don’t you comprehend how long it takes someone to even come to this point? I’ve been around Rotties my whole life and cancer and many other health issues arise in this breed with age. I knew when I heard her voicemail she wasn’t going to have great bedside manner. I’d like to say she acted that way out of compassion, maybe slightly autistic, but that all goes out the window when you comment on what I can and cannot afford. Healthcare for humans and animals is way too expensive! It’s almost $1000 for euthanasia and cremation services alone. In this economy, Sorry for being a poor person. I needed compassion and guidance not ridicule.

I can’t agree more with the gentleman who gave a bad review over dr kraus’s telephone demeanor!!! Calling the vet, when you have to sent your fur baby over the rainbow bridge is traumatic enough!! But to have the vet have zero compassion over the phone, is pitiful!!! Why is she even a vet?!?!

Dr. Kraus came to our home for attend to our almost 16 year old dog. She was kind and very straightforward which I appreciate. Her extent of expertise was evident as she talked us through the entire process before she administered the meds as well as while they were beginning to take effect. She was very compassionate and we were very grateful our buddy could pass at home comfortably.

(This review is based on a short phone conversation. It is not a review of veterinary services.) I spoke to Dr. Kraus on the phone while looking for someone to provide at-home euthanasia for my cat. Unfortunately, I was confused and put off by her tone, which I found to be unfriendly to the point of feeling rude. I understand that she may have been busy or have a different communication style, but considering the nature of the situation I was surprised by the lack of delicacy or compassion in the way she spoke to me. Based on this call I wasn't comfortable with having Dr. Kraus be the one to come into my home and euthanize my pet. My family who overheard the call felt similarly as well. If you are looking for someone who will offer warmth and patience during the process of saying goodbye to your pet, Dr. Kraus may not be the best option for you. I recommend speaking to her on the phone first, and judging for yourself.
