We loved Smith Vet all the way up until this past week when Alisa informed me that they wouldn't fill a food order requiring vet approval because we submitted the order through Chewy, and they "don't work with Chewy" because of "quality and sourcing issues," and they suggested PetCo or PetSmart. We used to order the food through Smith Vet's online storefront but Chewy could get the food to us fastest. I'm suspicious that they didn't just want us to order through their storefront. Regardless of what company is sourcing the food - Smith, Chewy, PetSmart or PetCo - it is the SAME food requiring vet permission to fulfill which Smith wouldn't do. So we had do put our 13.5 yr old shepherd in renal failure on a different food since the prescribed one wouldn't arrive in time and quite frankly he is on his last weeks of life. We won't return to Smith for the remainder of his care or the care of any future furry loved one.
